Our founder and MD, Saj Jetha, decided it was time to start a business dedicated to turning clients into exceptional graduate recruiters. Saj, an economist by training, had worked with Accenture and Ernst & Young, giving him first-hand knowledge of how competitive the high end of the graduate marketplace could be.

In 2009, The Smarty Train was involved in the public consultation led by John Denham, Secretary of State for Innovation, University and Skills and David Lammy, Minister of State for Higher Education, that developed into a governmental internship initiative.

The Smarty Train regularly speaks at the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) and frequently comments on recruitment issues in the quality press.

Since its launch, The Smarty Train has amassed a fine selection of clients and recorded triple digit growth every year. It’s also become increasingly international in scope. And as more clients sign us up, so more talented people have come on board to deliver great advice, insight, training, events and communications.
